Getting The Extra Beating Heart Out Of My Chest’s starting point is the intimate relationship that occurs between twins sharing their room, their bed and ultimately, their early existence. However, growing up is growing apart. The book is a visual interpretation of intimacy and distance between Adina and her twin sister.
Adina lonescu-Muscel is a Romanian-Belgian photographer living and working in Brussels, Belgium. She studied Psychology in Bucharest and European and African anthropology in Brussels. During her studies in Brussels, she started her photography journey.
Adina uses photography and video making to explore and question memory and identity constructs. She participated in several collective shows and she recently won 2nd price of Photography at Concours Photo Georges Berteloit with her series, Getting the extra beating heart out of my heart. The book was mentioned on FK’s Best 2015 East-European Photobook List and was featured at GuatePhoto15, La Fototeca show last year.
